[At the Casagrande's apartment, the space launch is being shown on TV]
TV Announcer: "Five, four, three, two, one. We have liftoff."
[CJ is the one watching, whilst holding a potato clock. Just then, Hector tiptoes into the living room and lifts up the couch cushion, revealing a giant bucket of fried chicken]
Hector: [To the witness] "You saw nothing." [Prepares to eat. CJ sighs] "What's wrong CJ? And what's with the potato clock?"
CJ: "It's my science project. I know it's boring but the class laughed at my other idea."
Hector: "What was your other idea?"
CJ: "Send a rocket to space. Like him…"
[Points to the astronaut on TV]
José: "I'm astronaut José Hernández and I can tell you from experience there's nothing cooler than space." [José is in zero gravity as he speaks. He attempts to toss popcorn in his mouth but misses, so he catches it in his mouth as it floats] "See what I mean?"
CJ: "They all said there's no way I can do it."
Hector: "Mentiras! You're a Casagrande and nobody decides what you can and can't do. If I listen to every bobo who tried to discourage me I never would have made it to this country, or had my own business or eaten fried chicken whenever I wanted."
[Takes a bite of his drumstick]
Rosa: [Offscreen] "Is someone eating before dinner? I smell fried food."
[Hector replaces the drumstick and puts the couch cushions back down. Rosa looks in and Hector plays innocent]
Hector: "Uh, no food in here mi amor." [Rosa doesn't completely believe him and ducks out of sight] "CJ, if you want to send a rocket to space then that's what you're gonna do. Now give me that, potatoes are for eating." [Eats the potatoes, and the clock they're attached to. He burps up a ringing sound] I'll be your assistant Commander CJ."
CJ: "Let's do it."
[CJ excitedly runs off, and Hector quickly grabs his chicken and gets out before Rosa catches him]
Rosa: [Jumps out] "I caught you Hector!" [Realizes she's alone] "Hmm, I really thought I smelled fried food."

[Later, CJ and Hector are in the park and have the structure of the rocket complete]
CJ: "Thanks for letting me use this old stuff for my rocket."
Hector: "De nada, we don't use most of this stuff anymore anyways." [Finds an old waffle iron] "Ah, we had some good times old pal."
[Just then, Sergio arrives with his action camera]
Sergio: "Heard you're building a rocket, this will make a great documentary… Bobos in space."
[Flies around to get footage, while laughing, until Hector holds the waffle iron in Sergio's path and closes him in]
Hector: "Take your película somewhere else we're busy."
CJ: "Hmm the rocket looks great but how do we make it fly to space?"
[Hector isn't too sure and opens the waffle iron revealing a Sergio waffle]
Sergio: "Just wing it. Get it?"
Hector: "You heard the waffle, vamos."

[Later, the two are at the mercado, searching for something that can be used as rocket fuel]
Hector: "There must be something here that'll work as fuel to launch the rocket."
CJ: [Runs up with an idea] "Soda, mints, chips."
Hector: [Not getting it] "I said launch, not lunch."
CJ: "The soda and mints are for launching the rocket." [Grabs the chips] "These are for me." [Takes one out] "Astronauts need fuel too."
[Eats the chip. Hector gets excited by the idea of food]
Hector: "Ooh. So do astronaut's assistants." [Goes to the produce section and opens a compartment under the onions, revealing another giant bucket of fried chicken] "Here's my mercado stash." [Takes it and runs to the door, where CJ has his supplies bagged up] "You saw nothing."
[CJ nods and the two skedaddle. Just before Rosa pops out of the ice cream case]
Rosa: "I got you!" [Sees she's alone again] "I swear I smelled fried food."

[Leter, CJ is attaching the large bottles of soda to the outside of the rocket. He and Hector grab their goggles and strap them on. Carl blows airhorns as he, Ronnie Anne, Bobby, Sergio and Carlota are gathered around to watch]
Carl: "Y'all ready for this launch?"
[The others cheer]
CJ: "Space, here we come."
[CJ loads the mints into the soda bottles, which start fizzing. The bottles turn upside down and launch the rocket up]
Ronnie Anne: "It's going up!"
Carl, Ronnie Anne, Bobby, & Carlota: "CJ puedes! CJ puedes! CJ puedes!"
[Unfortunately the bottles run out of soda]
Hector: "Aye! Cuidado! It's coming back down."
[He bolts as the rocket turns into a nose dive. Sergio foolishly gets under it with his camera, facing up]
Sergio: "Gotta get a crash close up." [Lands on the ground, before the rocket crushes him. He pops his head out] "Too close."
[The Casagrandes re-assemble around the crashed rocket]
Hector: "It's okay, CJ, even astronauts have test runs that don't work out."
[CJ looks at the José Hernández sticker on the toolbox]
José: "Your abuelo's right. You just need more power."
CJ: "Wait. I have an idea."

[Later they are all gathered around a second rocket, along with Lalo]
CJ: "We need a strong gas to get to space."
Hector: "And nothing's stronger than Lalo's gas after a chile relleno, genius."
CJ: "Eat up, boy." [Feeds the stuffed pepper to Lalo, whose stomach starts churning instantly. Lalo lines up against the rocket and lets it rip. But the stinky gas just goes everywhere in a big mushroom cloud] "Oh, man, talk about a backfire."
José: "Aye, you're telling me. Fuji."
Hector: "Don't give up, you'll think of another way."

[Later, Hector and CJ are outside the mercado, putting the finishing touches on rocket number three when the wind starts to pick up]
Hector: "Oh, I better bring in Mr. Inflatable before the wind sends him flying."
CJ: [Gasps with an idea] "That's it! Wind is just what we need."
Hector: "All right, CJ! I knew you'd think of something."
CJ: "Come on, Mr. Inflatable you're going to space."
[Mr. Inflatable is rather excited by the idea]

[Later, Mr. Inflatable is wearing a helmet and is tied to the top of the rocket]
CJ: "Once the winds pick up Mr. Inflatable and the rocket will fly all the way up."
Hector: [To Mr. Inflatable] "You've served the mercado well. Good luck." [The winds pick up and whisk Mr. Inflatable and the rocket away] "One small step for the Casagrandes, one big leap for Mr. Inflatable."
[Mr. Inflatable is still going, higher and higher. Until the winds shift back down. CJ and Hector hit the ground before the rocket hits them. But the rocket crashes right through the mercado door and causes property damage inside. Hector and CJ run in to find Vito having been crushed onto a pile of wasted merchandise]
Vito: "Oofa, doofa. That's what I get for sneaking some free horchata."
CJ: "Abuelo, I'm so sorry."
Hector: "No hay problema. Just keep trying, you'll get your rocket to space."
CJ: I can't do it, everyone at school was right. I might as well go back to my potato clock." [Sadly heads to the huge gaping hole where the door used to be, picking up a solitary potato on the way]
Hector: "But, CJ, you can't give up." [CJ is gone] "I can't let CJ lose faith in himself. Maybe if I buy a rocket that already works and replace his with it…" [Gasps] "But where am I gonna buy a working rocket ship."
[Vito groans in slight discomfort]
Vito: "I know a guy."

[In an alley, Vito has ordered a model rocket and Hector has modified it to resemble CJ's]
Hector: "Vito, this rocket is perfect! Once we paint it to look like CJ's, he won't know the difference."

[Hector has brought the new rocket, completely modified to resemble CJ's, to the park with Mr. Inflatable strapped to the top. He takes CJ over as the rest of the familia watches.]
Hector: "Come on, CJ. It's time to try your rocket again, the very same one you built with your own hands."
Vito: [nudges Hector] "You forgot the price tag." [The price tag is indeed still on the rocket. Hector sheepishly removes it] "Cool rocket, CJ!"
CJ: "I don't understand, Abuelo. Why would it work this time? We tried everything."
Hector: "Uh, it'll work because, uh, I discovered the perfect fuel." [spots Bruno's hot dog stand] "Uh, hot dog water." [heads to Bruno's stand]
CJ: [confused] "Hot dog water?"
Hector: "Si. It'll give us the extra boost we need." [to Bruno] "Right, Bruno?"
Bruno: [points at the sign] "Like the sign says: 'You pay, I agree'."
[Hector hands over the money, and Bruno gives him the hot dog water.]
CJ; "I sure hope this works."
[Hector opens the fuel hatch and pretends to dump the hot dog water before throwing it away.]
Hector: "Yep, just pouring in the fuel." [choses the hatch] "I have a great feeling this time." [tries to leave, but his trousers are now snagged on the hatch] "Hmm?"
CJ: "Headed for space in..."' [feeds Lalo the chile relleno]
All: "Five, four, three, two, one, liftoff!"
[The fuel engines rotate]
Hector: "Uh-oh."
[Lalo farts and the rocket takes off, taking a screaming Hector with it.]
Carl: "Ooh, a shooting Abuelo! Make a wish!"
CJ: [to his flying abuelo] "What are you doing?! Get off the rocket!"
Hector: "I can't! No puedo! My weight seems to be slowing the rocket down." [taps his gut] "Thanks, pansa." [His phone rings. He picks up and CJ is on the other end]
CJ: "Abuelo, what do we do?"
Hector: "You need to use your rocket to get me down!"
[Cut to CJ's end]
CJ: "My rocket? You're on my rocket."
[Cut back to Hector's end]
Hector: "I'm not! I lied, CJ! I bought a different rocket and painted it to look like yours."
[Cut back to CJ's end]
CJ: "Why would you do that?"
[Cut back to Hector]
Hector: "It was just a little white lie to keep you going, like when I told your dad his IQ was a few points higher to make him believe he was a genius, or when I pretended to choke to show your Tia Maria that she can save lives."
[Cut back to CJ]
CJ: "You lied to everyone?!"
[Cut back to Hector]
Hector: "Yes! Because sometimes, believing is the fuel that gets you where you need to go. I'm so sorry, CJ, but now I need you to save me. I'm not cut out for moon life! They don't have fried chicken!"
[Cut back to CJ]
CJ: "What do I do?"
[Jim Sparkletooth is preparing for a shoot, holding up a mirror to his face.]
Jim Sparkletooth: [to his cameraman] "Tell me the truth. Does my hair look awful? Oh, I can't go on the air like this."
[He takes out a hairdryer]
CJ: "Wait, that's it!" [snatches Jim's hairdryer]
Jim Sparkletooth: "Hey! I needed that! This quaff ain't gonna quaff itself!"
CJ: "If anyone has a hairdryer, bring it quickly. I need to save my abuelo."
Margarita: "I have a bunch in my salon."
Carlota: "I've got one."
Ronnie Anne: "BRB."
[They all leave]
CJ: [on phone] "I have an idea, Abuelo. Sit tight."
[Cut back to Hector's end]
Hector: "Where am I gonna go? Oh, right. Space."

[CJ, Mrs. Kernicky, Mr. Nakamura, and Miranda all bring the original rocket over. CJ hammers some metal, Mr. Nakamura welds the hairdryers to the rocket, and CJ paints a 4 on the hull.]
Sergio: "Ooh, a heroic rescue scene? This will be a great twist for my movie. Got room for my camera?"
CJ: "Sure. Just do it quick." [Sergio straps his camera to the top of the rocket] "Here goes nothing." [He presses the button on the remote control and the hairdryers activate. But the propulsion isn't enough to get it flying] "It's not strong enough!"
Jim Sparkletooth: "Did you set mine to super-duper blast mode?" [CJ sets Jim's hairdryer to super-duper blast mode and it's enough to get the rocket flying. The blast is so strong it messes Jim's hair. Grumpily] "That's better."
CJ: "Please work! I can't lose you, Abuelo!"
[CJ's rocket zooms past the rocket Hector is strapped on, sending the other rocket careening downwards.]
Hector: "So far, so good! I'm not headed for space anymore." [He slides off his pants and falls off the rocket, taking Mr. Inflatable with him. Mr. Inflatable acts as a parachute] "Whew! Gracias, Mr. Inflatable."
[He lands]
CJ: [hugs him] "Abuelo, you're OK!"
Abuelo: "Only because of you."
[CJ's siblings and primos join in on the hug]
CJ: "Wait, where's the rocket you were on?"
[The other rocket crashes right on Vito, who has free samples of wieners from Bruno]
Vito: "Double oofa-doofa! That's what I get for taking more than one free sample. Talk about karma!"
[Jim reports on the scene]
Jim Sparkletooth: "I'm here on the scene where a man has risked his life to show his grandson he can do anything he puts his mind to." [tears up] "I wish I had a grandfather like him."
Sergio: [squawks] "Check it out!" [hands Hector CJ's phone]
Hector: "Look, CJ! Your rocket, it's still going up!"
[From Sergio's camera footage, the rocket enters space and the hairdryers disengage]
CJ: "That's my rocket in space!"
Hector: "I told you, CJ. You can do anything if you believe in yourself." [ears up] "Nothing can stop a Casagrande."
All: "CJ pudo! CJ pudo! CJ pudo! CJ pudo!"
[Hector grabs his fried chicken bucket from under Mr. Inflatable's helmet and prepares to feast in victory when Rosa bursts out of the bucket]
Rosa: "I knew I smelled fried food!"
Hector: [nervous] "CJ, we have a problem!"
[Rosa grabs her shoe and smacks a piece of fried chicken from Hector's hand. The chicken spins in the air, and then it fades to CJ's rocket, which José has spotted.]
José: "They changed the name to CASA? Hijole, I've been up here too long."
[The end.]
